Last week I had this idea of start exploring food related places around Georgia and sharing the experiences on my blog. I started by stopping at Roswell, which has a historic downtown filled with beautiful old houses, quaint restaurants and specialty shops. I went to Oli + Ve, a store on Canton Street that sells extra virgin olive oils, flavored olive oils, vinegars, imported pastas and dressings, honey, cookbooks, and a bit more. The products are displayed throughout the four rooms of a charming old house, with samples available for tasting.
When I entered the store, I was enthusiastically greeted by two ladies and one of them promptly came to give me a tour of the place. She explained the different kinds of vinegars and olive oils, offered me some samples, suggested some parings with certain dishes, and finally gave me a list of all the products available at the store. Now was the time for me to explore by myself and decide what I would buy. I had to make some tough decisions considering that the place is a foodies’ paradise!
They offer several sizes of bottles to choose from, but I decided to buy the little ones, so my family and I could try more flavors. My choices: basil olive oil, mushroom and sage olive oil, Sicilian lemon vinegar, and apricot vinegar. All delicious. Total success at home!
Can’t wait to make some salads to pair with my delicious findings! By the way, they offer cooking classes as well. Don’t forget to check their website to find out more about it.
