First I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year! I hope that 2018 brings lots of happiness and good food to all of you!
As we were staying at home for New Years Eve, I decided to make something special for the family. But at the same time I did not feel like going to the kitchen to cook a big meal… So, I had this idea of assembling a board with some special foods like cheeses, meats, breads, crackers and dried fruits… It turned out great and the family got really excited!! No leftovers!! And I was hoping to have some of those delicious treats for today…

My New Years Eve Cheese Board
For the cheeses, I bought a small log of Goat Cheese, one Brie and one Blue Cheese. For the charcuterie I choose Prosciutto (my husband’s favorite), Sopresatta (the large salame on the top board), and a hard salame (for my daughter). I also sliced an olive loaf and added some crackers and toasts. My mom bought a Duck liver paté and on the sweet side I used a fig jam that I had. No board is completed without assorted olives ( I love them and put them in every dish that I can). To finish, I scattered some dried apricots, put some roasted almonds in a small pot and also put some Old Style Mustard in a bowl to be eaten with the goat cheese.

My daughter took this picture to show her favorite item of the board.

Prosciutto, Brie and Olive Bread, what a worderful combination!! (Picture also taken by my daughter.)
